यह पंक्तियाँ मैंने प्रेमचंद के एक उपन्यास मंगलसूत्र में पढ़ी थी ।
"अब जीवन का अँधेरा पहलु देखना चाहती हूँ ,जहाँ त्याग है ,रुदन है,उत्सर्ग है।
सम्भव है उस जीवन से मुझे बहुत जल्दी घृणा हो जाए। श्रम और त्याग का
जीवन ही मुझे अब तथ्य जान पड़ता है। आज जो समाज और देश की दूषित
अवस्था है सहयोग करना मेरे लिए किसी जूनून से कम नही है। मुझे
बेकाम -धंदे के इतने आराम से रहने क्या अधिकार है? मगर ये सब जान
के भी मुझमे कर्म की शक्ति नही है.इस भोग-विलास के जीवन नेमुझे कर्महीन
बना डाला है.बुद्धि का मन पर कोई नियंत्रण नही है।
मेरी इच्छाशक्ति बेजान हो गई है।"
आज अचानक पढ़ कर लगा की जीवन कुछ ऐसा ही हो गया है । आलस्य मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा शत्रु है ।

इस पर मैंने यह टिप्पणी दी
मैं भी बाकी पाठको से सहमत हूँ , बलात्कार एक मानसिक विकृति ही है | मैंने इस बारे में काफी बार सोचा है की यह अपराध क्यों किया जाता है और अंत में यह नतीजा निकला -
हमेशा से ही हमारा समाज पुरुष प्रधान रहा है , हमें यह बताया जाता है की हम अधिकार जमा सकते हैं , विवाह के बाद भी पत्नी का जीवन पति की सेवा में ही गुज़र जाता है | इस तरह पुरुष यह मानने लगा है की नारी एक उपभोग की वस्तू है |
दूसरी बात यह की हर पुरुष और नारी को अपनी इक्छापूर्ति का हक है और सभी यह करते है पर समाज के दायेरे में रह कर | समस्या तब आती है जब व्यक्ति की ज्रुररतें उसके साधन से अधिक हो जाती हैं |
दोंनो तर्क मिलाये तो मेरा मानना है की वही परुष ऐसा कार्ये कर सकता है जिसके अन्दर पुरुष होने का अहम् हो और जो समाज और नारी को महत्व नहीं देता और बस उपयोग की वास्तु समझता है | ऐसे व्यक्ति मानसिक रूप से बीमार हो जाते हैं और यह मानने लगते हैं कि वह कुछ भी कर सकतें हैं |
सभी को यह जानना चाहिए की हम एक सामाजिक प्राणी हैं और हमें समाज की व्यवस्था में रहना होगा |
जहाँ तक सवाल है की बलात्कार नगरों और महानगरों में ज्यादा क्यों होता है ,,,शायद इसकी वजह भी यही है की गोवों में अभी भी एक सामाजिक ढाचा बचा हुआ है और सभी एक दुसरे को जानते हैं ..तो एक लोक-लाज बची हुई है |
नगर और महा नगरों में सामाजिक व्यवस्था टूट रही है , खासकर इन दिनों जब मध्यवर्गी परिवार की बच्चे महानगरों की और पलायान कर रहे है | अपने परिवारों से दूर और पच्शिम सभ्यता के संपर्क में आ कर पथभ्रष्ट हो रहे हैं |

Its been long time i have posted something of my own.
To start with i'll post two clips I recently watched.
Sita sings the blues is a humorous and innovative animation which tells story of Sita and Ram projecting it to a modern couple. I loved the narration style. I have even odwnloaded the movie :-)
The songs in it are awesome. Watch it and enjoy it.

I also learned about OLPC project (One laptop per child).
I visited India page of OLPC. 700 laptops have been so far distributed in India.
Earlier I was skeptical about the success of this mission in India, it heavily depends on an internet connection, else what will be the usefulness of a laptop to a child? But later when I gave it a thought about it, I realized that laptop is just a medium to impart education (like a language). However grass root realities could be different :-) .
Just finished reading "Rising Sun" by Micheal Crichton. It touches the dynamics of US-Japan economic relations and to some extend it is true as well. US lags behind Japan in auto and electronic segment. When I thought of buying a car, American models were out of question as they have very less re-sale value. I was concentrating on Japanese brands. Same is the case with electronics.
According to a Motley-Fool study, the US national debt is equivalent to its GDP, so essentially US economy growth is zero. i am hearing this financial year will even be more worse than previous year and current financial depression may reach its abyss.
Lets hope for the best. Job market in US is looking to be really horrific and repercussion are being felt on Indian IT Industry as well. With new Obama administration putting a cap on H1B visas to US , things in future looks more gloomy.

Sitting by my window side seeing the light snowflaking outside is not-so-common-awesome experience. To add to top of that listening to the song "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow".
आज का दिन कुछ ख़ास रहा । Charlotte में आज बर्फ़बारी हुई। मैं तो इससे जलसे कि तरह लेता हूँ , मैं उन लोगों में से हूँ जो बर्फ़बारी से २६ साल से वंचित रहे ।
यहाँ बर्फ़बारी आम नहीं है पर आम (mango) कि तरह ही पसंद की जाती है । रात से बर्फबारी शुरू हुई और सुबह तक जारी रही । सुबह उठ के देखा तो सफ़ेद चादर बिछी हुई थी , फिर क्या था अपना कैमरा निकाला और निकल पड़ा बाहर ( ऑफिस जाए भाड़ में) ।
तो लीजिये प्रस्तुत है यहाँ कि बर्फ़बारी कि कुछ झलकियाँ ।

Wishing all a Happy 2009 year to all readers. I pray this year to be prosperous and safe for India. No more terrorist attacks.
It's also time for resolutions. One immediate coming in my mind is to do a lot of photography and travel in US.
Also want to sort out my messy life and lifestyle. To begin with we did a massive cleaning of our house today on 1st Jan :-) and cleaned the car.
Hope this sanity prevails over me.

Recently read this somewhere and initially found it strange but later it started sinking in."Strange though it may sound, even if light didn't exist there would still be the speed of light and it would still have the same value. The speed of light is part of the geometry of space-time and the fact that light travels at "the speed of light" is almost a cosmic afterthought. Gravity and the so-called "strong force" also travel at that speed."

It's a long time i have written about anything socially relevant on my blog .
I have been following the blog "Our Delhi Struggle" . They are two New Yorkers that have moved to Delhi and its about their experiences here. Its amusing,thoughtful.
They are also part of few rural initiatives in Uttar Pradesh .
Two such initiatives are:
Pardada Pardadi School in BulandShehr for girl education and vocational training.
Other one is "Rags-to-Pads" initiative that deals with a very basic sanitary need for women - sanitary pads.
Many women in rural India use rags instead of pads during their cycles. This initiative is about setting up a low cost sanitary pad making business to help in better sanitation and raising employment.
They recently raised a fund of $5000 and i am sad that i did not contributed to it. Next time for sure.
Please publicize this and spread the word. We should really appreciate true efforts.

My college friends in India has come up with this great idea of providing a platform to people who wish to donate their PC.
www.donateyourpc.in (DYPC) is the site launched by these four guys.
It's still in its beta phase and right now you will have to send an email to the web address provided on the site.
Your PC will be donated to an NGO for further use. You will get the receipt for donation.
I wish this endeavor of them reaches new scales. All the best to you guys and congrats for initiating something like this.

Ever saw a photograph and wondered what is it of? I always wanted something on the internet which would do a reverse look up as compared to Google Images. Give it a photograph and it would tell you in words what is it of.
Finally here is a image search engine like this TinEye.com
This is a beta release and have very small fraction of images indexed so far on the internet.
I tried it with few pics of birds but no result found, i guess it is still gearing up. But nonetheless , this is really a useful search engine.
On other updates, i am experimenting with new browsers on the web.
I am using FF3 as my primary browser for surfing all my https sites. On the other side , i was browsing on Chrome, it is good but I felt tabs are slow in rendering as compared to FF3.
I was also using Digsby as my IM client. It integrates your facebook,twitter and linkedin accounts as well apart from gtalk and yahoo messenger accounts and email accounts.
It is good, but I found it annoying when i need to share files, it does not give me option to transfer files with gtalk users, only with yahoo users :( .
So i installed Pidgin, another lightweight (no frills) IM client. So far i am happy with Pidgin.
Now i wanted something to integrate my social network accounts as well as other n/ws, so i finally installed Flock, given it is based on FF3, i don't mind giving it a try.
I must say, the startup time has improved significantly since last time i used Flock ver1. I am using Flock2.0 beta right now.
And since I don't wanted too many browsers on my m/c , I uninstalled Chrome.
On the other side, i used the new faeture in Blogger to follow my fav blogs, it gave me an option to import the blogs from my Google Reader account, i did that and viola now i have duplicate feeds for each blog I chose to follow in my reader account (wtf).
Anyways , those who have added the following gadget in your blogs would see my pictureless icon on your followers list.
So here i am sitting confused with all this technical stuff.
i am also thinking of changing my theme on my blog, but i am frightened from the consequences of investing a lot of time regaining my customizations and widgets. Can anybody tell me an easier way to change my blog theme without losing my widgets or investing too much time to regain them?

Bell Bajao campaign is against Domestic violence in India and urges men to protest against it.
They want men to take action against domestic violence in their neighbourhood.

Nothing much going on this part of the world, at least not which excites me!!!!
I have changed the title of my blog. Well I was thinking of changing it since a long time but never found a good one.
This is also not too apt but better than previous one.
It does not mean that my blog is a serendipity for anyone surfing through universe of blogs ( come on, i don't write that well).
What triggered this change is that I just now finished watching Serendipity, the movie and really liked it ... it is sweet and romantic.
Moreover, i like this word a lot for its long and feel-good meaning.
Btw, in the morning saw the movie "Thoda Roomani Ho Jaayein", thanks to Bipin for sharing the files.
I really enjoyed the movie and found it second one which has used "Kaafiya" in dialogues, first movie being "Khoobsurat" starring Rekha
Does anyone know of any other movie which has used "Kaafiya" ?
